From June 27th to July 1st, local time, Chairman Zhu Chen of Mainland Group, Chairman Yan Jinsong of Yueyang Guansheng Company, Deputy General Manager Deng Xiaoxia, and their delegation were invited by Mr. Glenn, the Youth Representative of Uganda to the United Nations, to conduct a research mission on Uganda's agricultural products industry. The delegation traveled 1,500 kilometers to successively inspect the Asili Farm and NUAC Farm in the Gulu district, the Lira Rural Cooperative, and the Bramburi area, conducting on-site research on the cultivation of agricultural products such as soybeans, sesame, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and maize. The purpose of this visit is to gain a deeper understanding of Uganda's investment climate and agricultural development, to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, and to further expedite Mainland Group's industrial strategy in Africa.

Our research has revealed that advanced production technology is precisely what Uganda lacks. Chairman Zhu Chen stated: "Uganda is renowned as the 'highland water town' due to its abundant natural resources and favorable climate. Upholding the principles of mutual benefit and reciprocity, we can collaborate in areas such as agricultural trade, processing, planting technologies, agrochemicals, and storage logistics. This cooperation will not only expand the market for local agricultural products and increase their value addition but also introduce excellent production techniques, representing a win-win strategy. Local farmers have expressed their support and have welcomed the arrival of Chinese enterprises."

In Lira Rural Co-operative Society, the delegation went deep into the fields and engaged in face-to-face communication with farmers to know more about their planting needs and difficulties. In view of the actual situation of local agricultural production, the delegation taught the farmers advanced planting techniques and the use of fertilisers, and expressed the willingness of Mainland Group to provide planting techniques and fertiliser support to Lira Rural Co-operative Society to help the farmers to improve the yield and quality of their crops and to achieve an increase in income.

On June 29th, under the guidance of Ugandan government officials, the delegation also assessed the soil quality, maize and soybean cultivation, as well as storage and logistics channels in the Bramburi district. Together, they explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as planting technology, crop variety improvement, and market expansion.

Through the inspection, Mainland Group and Uganda have reached a preliminary intention to cooperate, signaling the start of a new chapter in China-Africa agricultural collaboration with Uganda.
