From 23rd to 24th June, Xie Weijiang, Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial Committee and Secretary of Yueyang Municipal Committee, led Yueyang Municipal Delegation to visit Tanzania, accompanied by Zhu Chen, President of Mainland Group, Yan Jinsong, Chairman of Yueyang Guansheng, and Deng Xiaoxia, Deputy Manager of Yueyang Guansheng, and attended the meeting of Tanzanian Investment Promotion Bureau, meeting of Tanzanian Hunan Chamber of Commerce, and accompanied by the investigation of Tanzanian Mainland-Guanshen Sunflower Seed Oil Project.

On 23rd June, the delegation arrived at Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, and was met at the airport by Diana Ladislaus Mwamanga, Head of Investment, China, Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC). In the VIP lounge of the airport, the delegation was interviewed by the local TV station and had a meeting with Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC).
During the interview with Tanzania TV, Secretary Xie Weijiang promoted Yueyang's economic and social development, industrial advantages, business environment and preferential policies,etc. During the meeting with Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) officials, Secretary Xie Weijiang said that Hunan is the ‘land of fish and rice’, with rich experience and deep historical heritage in grain cultivation and processing.
Tanzania is a ‘fertile land’ full of resources and opportunities, and the arrival of Hunan enterprises will certainly help agricultural development. We will further increase our investment efforts to promote the common development process between China and Africa, and make the ties of economic and trade exchanges between China and Africa stronger.
Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) said that Chinese projects in Africa are beneficial to local people and local economic development, we will give the greatest support and provide the best policies, and we hope to increase the future investment and cooperation to create benefits for the people. Zhu Chen, President of Mainland Group, participated in the talks and TV interviews.

On 24th June, the delegation paid a visit to the sunflower oil project of Shenglan Agriculture, which is constructed by Mainland-Guansheng Joint Venture. At the construction site of the project, Zhu Chen, President of Mainland Group, introduced the construction progress and operation of the project in detail to Secretary Xie Weijiang and members of the delegation.

Secretary Xie Weijiang fully affirmed the achievements of the project, pointing out that Shenglan Agriculture Company has made important contributions to the opening up of Hunan and Yueyang to the outside world and the friendly exchanges between China and Africa, and hoped that the enterprise would broaden its business in the international market, expand its production capacity, and make a new contribution to the better integration of Yueyang into the ‘Belt and Road’.

The delegation also visited the Chinese and Tanzanian employees of Tanzanian Sunflower Oil Project, expressed their thanks and greetings to the employees for their hard work, and hoped that the project department would continue to organise the construction carefully, pay attention to the safety precautions, and set up a model of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation in the course of the project implementation.

Zhu Chen, President of Mainland Group, thanked the Hunan government for building a platform to create a quality environment for enterprise development. Under the policy support, Mainland Group ensures the product quality through the strict access mechanism of plant number, civilised market competition and protects the long term operation of the enterprise , and expects the annual capacity of the plant to reach 500,000 tonnes and create 500 jobs for the locality. The company will make full use of the policy opportunities, increase investment, integrate multiple resources, continue to actively play a leading role, and pave the way for more Hunan enterprises to go to Africa.

After the project inspection activities, the delegation had a talk with Tanzania Hunan Chamber of Commerce to talk about their hometown and development, and Zhu Chen, the president of Mainland Group, participated as the representative of Tanzania Hunan Chamber of Commerce. Xie Weijiang pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce and the invested enterprises in Tanzania should deeply understand the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction on building a ‘China-Africa community with a Shared Future’, grasp the pulse of the times, and expand the cooperation in modern industry, modern agriculture, education and science and technology, so as to achieve resonance with Tanzania's development.
